Goals 2026

Every year I like to share my art goals here on the blog. It’s a tradition that helps me stay focused, reflect on what I’ve accomplished, and plan for the year ahead. In this post I’ll be sharing my goals 2026, looking back on my 2025 goals, and celebrating the things I achieved in both my art business and family life. Keep reading about my goals 2026 below!

My Accomplishments from 2025

I don’t always take the time to celebrate wins, but looking back on the year helps me remember how far I’ve come. 2025 was a busy year filled with both challenges and exciting steps forward in my business.

Starter Company Plus Program

One of the highlights of my year was being accepted into the Starter Company Plus Program, a business coaching and training program for small businesses in Ontario. Part of the program involved creating a business plan, developing a marketing plan, and pitching my business for the chance to win a grant. I was awarded $4,500, which allowed me to invest in my cyanotype business. With the grant I purchased a printer, materials, and hired a contract worker who helped me create new symmetry drawing books for Amazon. I also used part of the grant to run Pinterest ads to grow my email list for teachers interested in my free symmetry drawing resources and my Teachers Pay Teachers products.

Running ads for the first time was a big step outside my comfort zone, but I’m proud that I took the leap and saw results. I’m also proud of successfully hiring and working with a contract worker, which felt intimidating at first but turned out to be a great experience.

HobbyScool

Another highlight was partnering with HobbyScool. I presented at two of their free online art summits—The Art of Expression in the spring and The Art of Handmade in the fall. These summits introduced my work to new audiences and helped me grow my social media following and email list.

HobbyScool also invited me to create an acrylic painting workshop for their Craft and Create Club membership, which was a rewarding experience. I also got to be on the HobbyScool Podcast and run a 3 Day art challenge inside their private community!

Teaching Workshops

In 2025 I was invited to lead a cyanotype workshop with Cambridge Art Galleries, where I had previously exhibited work in 2021. It was meaningful to be asked back, and I appreciated that the workshop paid proper artist fees and reimbursed materials.

I also ran a private family workshop at their cottage, which helped me gain experience with pricing and invoicing for private sessions.

Another milestone was creating a course to help teens develop art portfolios for school applications. Although the course launch didn’t go as planned, the process taught me a lot about course creation, launching, and using ThriveCart as a hosting platform, which I’ll continue using in the future.

Part-Time Teaching Work

This year I balanced part-time teaching with my art business. I taught online high school art classes in the evenings, worked two days a week as an art teacher at a Montessori school, and also did some supply teaching with the local school board. These roles gave me flexibility to grow my business while still being present for my son.

My 2025 Art Goals

Not all of my goals for 2025 happened, and that’s okay. Our son started full-time daycare, which meant lots of time home with him when he was sick. I also spent much of the fall and winter working 35 hours a week with the Starter Company Plus Program while teaching part-time. It was a lot to balance.

Some goals I did reach included receiving a grant, growing closer to my email list target, and publishing seven symmetry drawing books on Amazon (more than my original goal of three). I also participated in two art exhibitions and continued growing my YouTube channel to nearly 800 subscribers.

Other goals, like listing my fine art on Etsy, starting a Printful shop, and creating more courses, will carry over into future years.

Art Goals 2026

In September 2025, we welcomed another baby boy to our family. That means 2026 will look different, since I’ll be on maternity leave and not working at my part-time teaching jobs. With a baby and a toddler, my available work hours will be limited—likely about 10 hours a week if I’m lucky. I’m grateful to have this time at home, and I want to use my business hours wisely.

My word for 2025 was “strategic,” and I want to continue thinking about my business in a purposeful way. For 2026, I’m focusing on optimizing systems and making my existing work more effective. My word for the year is going to be OPTIMIZE.

Areas of focus:

  • Improve SEO on Teachers Pay Teachers products, especially those that aren’t selling well.

  • Learn more about Amazon ads and continue promoting my symmetry drawing books.

  • Update and improve SEO on both of my websites: jackiepartridge.com for my fine art, and jackiepartridgeart.com for my education resources.

  • Create new TPT products with the goal of reaching 150 listings.

  • Grow my email list to 3,000 subscribers.

If time allows:

  • Apply for art exhibitions and grants.

  • Look into additional affiliate partnerships.

I know this year will be slower in terms of business growth, but I’m excited to continue building a foundation that supports both my creative practice and my family.
