I like wooden palette knives because the handle fits nicely in my hand and feels more comfortable to grip and hold onto. I find the wooden palette knives are more durable and have a nice quality to them. The handles are wooden and the blade is metal. This is the one I love- Wooden handle palette knives

Best Palette Knives for Painting - Plastic

Even though I prefer the wooden and metal palette knives, plastic is a nice alternative because they are easy to clean, a bit cheaper and you can usually get them in a package of 5 or 6 so it nice to have some variety in the size of them.
